Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield (SCI) is an international collaboration between the University of Sheffield, the Office of Chinese Language Council International (OCLCI, commonly known as Hanban, Confucius Institute Headquarters), Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Nanjing University (NJU). Officially established in January 2007, SCI has developed into an important hub for Sino-British language and culture exchange and for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) in the Midlands and Northern England.
